Brandon Bay encompasses the surrounding area of Castlegregory.  It is connected by twelve miles of unbroken sandy beach that is backdropped by Mount Brandon and it’s surrounding ridges.  

 

This ever-lasting golden stretch of sand spans the entire bay from Fermoyle to Fahamore making it one of the longest beaches in Ireland. The beach is open to the North Atlantic which receives long rolling swells and provides excellent surf. This unqiue environment makes Brandon Bay one of the top surfing and windsurfing locations in Ireland.

Watersports aside, the Brandon Bay beaches present idyllic conditions for fishing, swimming, walking & running or simply relaxing & unwinding.  For those of you who are fitness fanatics out there, each year there is a 10K & Half Marathon that takes place on the beach that is infamously the only all beach half marathon in Ireland.

 

Leaving the beaches behind, Mount Brandon and the Brandon Group of Mountains presents a hikers paradise.  Mount Brandon is the second highest peak after the MacGillycuddy Reeks and there are several guided tours available.
