OUR BEACHES

Anchor Caravan Park is surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland, and arguably the world.  Most importantly, we have direct access onto the stunning Aughacasla Beach and you will discover below all the other beaches that can be found in the local area.

All of these beaches are essentially connected to one another.  As a result, there is quite literally miles and miles of golden sandy beaches that are waiting to be discovered.  Each beach has its own unique characteristics, no one the same as the other.

AUGHACASLA BEACH

Often referred to as 'Anchor Beach' by our regulars, Aughacasla Beach is a soft golden sandy beach. The beach overlooks Tralee Bay, which is sheltered from the elements of the open Atlantic. The waters are calm making it safe for all to enjoy. We are blessed with direct access onto this beach and therefore it can be reached in minutes.

CASTLEGREGORY BEACH

Castlegregory Beach is a 5km stretch of beach that connects to Aughacasla Beach. You can walk to Castlegregory via the beach from Anchor Caravan Park, with only one stream to cross so again be prepared to get those feet wet.

You can continue walking down to the Maharees, where you will find the local watersport clubs. The beach has received the Green Coast Beach Award most recently in 2019. It is a short walk of 10 minutes from the village centre making it ideal to pop up for any necessities.

CAPPAGH BEACH

Cappagh Beach is a seldom-visited beach, near Cloghane and Castlegregory, and it is set amid a fairytale landscape of beaches and mountains.

It is not far from the spectacular Mount Brandon making it the perfect spot to begin a walking trail into the Brandon Range of mountains, or simply to explore the many nearby beaches dotted close by.

Aughacasla beach stretches far in both directions offering an ideal place to enjoy a relaxing stroll or run.  The beach stretches 4 km to Camp and can be easily walked.  There is a stream or two to cross so you should be prepared to get your feet wet.  This only adds to the experience!

MAHERABEG BEACH

Maherabeg Beach is a small beach, however certainly not short of life.  This beach is home to our local Watersport Clubs; Jamie Knox Watersport & Splash Sports.

This beach is a hub of activity for families. There is a daily host of classes that take place including surfing, wind surfing, body boarding etc.  You can hire equipment and the kids can play on the slides & trampolines.  Maherabeg Beach is a blue flag beach and is manned with life guards during the busy summer months making if very safe for families.

FERMOYLE to FAHAMORE BEACHES

The stretch of beach from Fermoyle to Fahamore spans 12 km from end to end making this one of the longest uninterrupted beaches in Ireland.

When we say uninterrupted, we truly mean it and as a result you can easily walk, run or even cycle the entire stretch (and back if you're feeling spring).  The beach looks out over Brandon Bay and the North Atlantic and it is backdropped by Mount Brandon and it's surrounding ridges making for the most spectacular views.  The beach is renowned for its rolling swells and excellent surf that have given it a reputation of one of the best surf and windsurfing locations in Ireland.
